They cause no more damage to animals than a loose dog in a field of young lambs,

I worked for a well known family who was top of the fox hunt fraternity and their hounds were not fed 36 hours before a hunt.!

signed,,,,,,

Hare coursing in my parts isnt tollerated by the police and they have a good set up with cctv and many have a hefty fine on a regular basis from the courts.........

"They cause no more damage to animals than a lose dog in a field of young lambs"

A loose dog in a field of lambs can do a serious amount of damage which is why there is nothing better then a dog off the lead to raise the ire of a livestock farmer. Shame on you if you think it is a minor matter! Farmland is farmland not an extension of the municipal park.

Hounds are not fed for at least 24 hours before a hunt - including drag hunts - for their own health it is nothing to do with getting an appetite. Anybody who goes in for long distance running will tell you that they don't eat much the day before.

Rollo you amaze me,,,,,,,,you know everything about every subject under the sun or done it or doing it,,,,,,,,,,you seem a jack of all and master at none.

and dont you dare,,,,,,,,shame on you to me!!,,,,,,I never put anything about costs ,a fox can kill 1 lamb or many,,,,,a lose dog can kill or seriously injure 1 or many.so in theory they are both on par,,,,,,,,,

I may know a little about farming than you know.....or are you an expert on that aswell...........!

The hounds where I worked wasnt fed for at least 36 hours prior to a hunt,,,,,,,,,and also as you should know ,being an expert ,hunt dogs are not allowed to eat fox meat,
