We have a kind of "Free cycle" here too...........

the other day there was a boombox radio, a tumble dryer,a aluminium cooking pot, various kiddies toys.....a small box of old watches and some pens.......trouble is, what's left makes the place look untidy........

.I hate to see old telly's dumped , some vandal smashes the back off the tube to get the coils off leaving glass everywhere. or stoves the front in.......

local guy was mowing his front lawn on the day of the Council hard rubbish pickup.

The 'phone rang, so he went inside, leaving the lawnmower .......

When he finished the 'phone call......... his lawnmower was gone

:-(

Just wondering........ Chris..... did anyone go to that person's house and chop up the logs? :-D

same here - I had a new dishwasher - put the old one outside the front door - it disappeared shortly afterwards

Where I live, if we have anything of the slightest value that we don't want, instead of taking it to the tip, we leave it by the front gate and someone will take it. My son asked me to help him take an old cooker to the tip, I said put it out the front, and if it is still there tomorrow I will take it. It lasted about half an hour.

Is that your village Chris?

A tree had to be felled which grew on parish land. It was cut into logs and various village volunteers were told they could take a barrow load. (There were some who grabbed without permission.)

So what? That is life now. However the office was contacted with a complaint by a villager - who admitted she just saw the logs and helped herself but was ringing to complain that the logs were the wrong size to fit into her log burner.

Sounds as if you shoplift and then complain item does not suit your requirments.
