Good morning everyone

I have decided to lock this post to prevent any further comments due to the reports which have reached the support team.

And how do you feel about the hunt breeding cubs to kill? Still waiting for an answer to that.

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 11 Jul 2015 21:33

I'm not raging. I'm totally calm.

You're the one ranting with your excessive use of exclamation marks. The thread is about hunting with dogs. If you want a thread about fishing then start one.

I don't know as much about fishing as I do about hunting but I know enough to not like it. Do fishermen breed fish then get dogs to tire them out and tear them apart?

magpie Report 11 Jul 2015 21:26

Oh yes, so you did, nine words!! Why no rage against fishermen? Are they not as vile, evil and hypocritical as huntsmen? Again parhetic selective rage!

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 11 Jul 2015 21:24

Oh, and it's not me reporting you. By the way.

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 11 Jul 2015 21:23

Still no comments from you about the hunt breeding cubs to kill?

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 11 Jul 2015 21:20

I did comment about fishing. Read it again. All of it this time.

Huntsmen are hypocrites. I already answered that question.

If it was about pest control they wouldn't be doing the things I indicated in my previous post, would they? Or do you think it's ok? If you do then you are also a hypocrite.

I think fishing with a hook is cruel, yes.

Turkeys are bred to be eaten not bred to be chased by dogs until they are exhausted then torn apart. I cannot see the logic of that question.

Have I been to a slaughter house? Nope.

Have I ridden to hounds and seen a kill? Yes. And it was one of the most cruel and disgusting things I've seen in my life and I haven't hunted since.

I don't get pleasure from causing pain. Most normal people don't.

Close season?

Ha!

Evil people with a disgusting hobby. If they are just out to kill vermin how come they encourage them?

Show me a huntsman and I'll show you a liar and a hypocrite. I'd have more time for them if they were honest about their hobby. Why don't they just say they enjoy seeing animals chased down torn apart. At least that's honest.

Can't see that happening in the foreseeable future!!!!!!

We may have to wait until the fox becomes close to extinction before we change our mindset.

magpie Report 11 Jul 2015 10:37

Losses like that are heart breaking, and no matter how well you fox proof a coop, it's only a matter of time before it's broken into. (pretty grim for the chickens and lambs) I have no answers except to keep foxes at bay 'somehow'! Another problem with shooting/other methods is that you risk killing a vixen with cubs, leaving them to starve. At least with hunting you have a closed season to help prevent this.

Having read this thread i thought I would share with something with you all.

My Uncle and Auntie, who are now into their eighties have a small free range chicken farm. Yesterday they cooped up the chickens in the open air whilst they were out shopping. They returned to find foxes had attacked two coops killing thirty seven chickens and causing damage to the coops. This is not an isolated case, and one they have got used to over the years, but I think it has really upset them this time, they love and look after the chickens, my uncle has often said foxes don't kill for food they kill for the sake of killing. If anyone has any solutions I would love to hear them.

A bit of trivia for you.

Not too long ago, a fox was shot dead on an Aberdeenshire farm after it was seen attacking lambs. The fox weighed 38 lbs & was 4ft 9ins in length.

Enough of this 'Foxy Knoxy' stuff for now!

Frankly, I think all field sports including coarse fishing should be banned, also greyhound racing, ditto horse, tadpoles in jam jars, the list is endless. Why only fox hunting? Other 'sports' are just as bad, but fox hunting is the only one that evokes such outrage - odd that!!! The cynic in me says that it's the participating people, not concerns for the fox that are the issue here, otherwise this very selective outrage makes little or no sense.

Just sent a message to my MP about this. I think hunting with dogs is barbaric. You can send a message to your MP if you go to www hsi uk, click on, Don't turn the clock back.It is the only way I can do anything about it. This is a way of getting full bloodsports back but by doing it slowly, if the government get this through on Wed. they will bring it back fully over time.

I bet Cameron is pally with many of the prohunt brigade and that's what is behind this. It's barbaric to kill creatures in such a horrible way.

Some hunters agree Maggie but many don´t :-( If they did they wouldn´t be trying to overturn the hunting law.

I would really like not just turn them out to be chased but put their family in a burrow where they have to protect or run.
nasty YES but what the hunt does is not nice either

Much more fun with a couple of potential marathon runners and aniseed :-D
If the quarry is caught, it can be licked to within an inch of it's life :-D

I vowed I would not join this debate. -..........
I am anti hunt always have been, always will be. Proudly been arrested for it. I object to the tally ho crowd ( that I was brought up amongst) getting their jollies chasing defenseless animals. I stopped anti. hunting when the protesters began to harm the animals and it became a class war.

Foxes and other animals need to be kept at a level, are humans not just another warm blooded mammal ? ) .
Before you agree to hunting ask yourself if you would like to be chased until you couldn´t run no more and rather than a quick death you are ripped to pieces.
