I'd forgotten about that hot sauce recipe. Believe me, it's HOT. The leftover 3/4 cup got thrown out.

Anyway..........

Phone call this afternoon from the "probe clinic" ........... six months since the last invasion.

Checkup time........... I have an appointment on 21 March.

Geez, awful boring food for a week, horrible drinks, and then EXPLOSIONS.

The Hot Sauce recipe....... WARNING... IT MIGHT CLEAN YOU OUT

·½ cup Strong Brewed Coffee (espresso)
·1 cup Ketchup/Tomato Sauce
·¾ cup Firmly Packed Soft Brown Sugar
·½ cup Apple Cider Vinegar
·½ cup Finely Chopped Shallots
·½ cup Sweet Red Chili Sauce
·2 cloves Garlic, Grated
·2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
·2 Tablespoons Ground Cummin
·2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
·1 teaspoon Sriracha Or Tabasco Sauce

Stir all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Bring to simmer then reduce the heat to low until flavours meld, about 40 minutes, occasionally stirring the sauce. Cool to room temperature and serve. Will keep for about 2 weeks or more in the refrigerator.
Makes about 2½ cups

I have about 3/4 of a cup in the fridge if anyone wants it :-D

Lady S...good to read that you are getting back into
Making meals again <3

I made dinner last night, grilled chicken.

DH loves hot & spicy food (I don't like it, or rather ... it doesn't like me!). I made a hot sauce for him.

He really enjoyed it........ until the middle of the night :-( not quite the same reaction as I got with the "clean-out goop" but close :-( , and terrible indigestion & heartburn.

I told him he's getting old, not as tough as he used to be.

And....... the sauce wasn't as hot as usual, because I didn't have any Tabasco sauce!!

Bit drastic, just to get out of cooking his own meals lol

Plod on Scozz, you can do things a little at a time to catch up to your usual standards as you feel better

Rest? very funny!

The house is a tip.

I haven't done much for the last week or so, DH has made his own dinners......... I wonder who made the MESS!

Now he has come home with a huge bandage on his hand. He was helping a friend get rid of a monstrosity water feature....... the claw hammer broke and hit him on the hand, on the "web" between his thumb & forefinger. There's a big hole there now. He went to the medical centre, they cleaned it out and bandaged it up, but he has to wait until Friday to get stitches, because of the swelling.

This is Walking Wounded House.

I am so glad all that is over Scozz, and hope you will soon feel more like your usual self and able to eat what you fancy.

It's reassuring that you are being so thoroughly checked out, just a shame it means so much preparation and discomfort.

Take it easy now

Give me a week or so to get back to my usual eating habits. If I'm still feeling weird after that I'll see my GP again..... but I'm seeing him on Tuesday (as advised by the specialist).

Having two lots of anasthetic in a week must do something weird to the system; I'm sure the body has its own way of dealing with being "probed" too.

Hello LadyScozz.
Pleased to hear it is now all over and done with. It does seem good that you can go six months until your next appointment. Hopefully the doctor will be able to explain just what was done. It is hard to understand the specialists talk sometimes they seem to use the big names for things. Have a good rest and hope you are soon feeling better and hungry, take care

Just a thought - I assume that the 'gloop' and its effects will have stripped all your gut flora. Antibiotics can do this too which is why they sometimes upset your stomach. Perhaps some live yoghurt or pro-biotic supplements would help to restore the balance.

Sounds like a positive outcome. Not only do you have a call-back in 6 months then every 2 years as opposed to needing invasive treatment , you've also lost weight :-D

May be your emotions are putting you off your food - it will soon settle down.

SheilaSomerset Report 22 Aug 2015 10:22

You've been pummelled, pulled about, purged and peered at so no wonder you're off your food. I'm sure your system will settle down after a while - look after yourself :-)
