Thanks again everyone, so many nice words.
I went out again on Friday as we had a free meal voucher, same place as last weekend, as we like the staff and the atmosphere. Anything to save me cooking and washing up lol

My son is well on the mend, thankfully, so we can go out together in a week or so, and my friend is over from Germany for several weeks so we can spend time together too. Looking forward to the next few weeks of summer

Oh thank you, Elizabeth, how kind of you to do this for me and thank you all for the good wishes and kind words.

My birthday was on Saturday, the same day as our Dutch's, and latterly she was the one to put up a thread. Of course, this year she wasn't able to post, and I did miss her card and the phone call saying Happy Birthday Twinnie.

I feel a bit low as I am closer still to 70, not the way my head feels lol but the body lets me down. My son is still recovering from his op so couldn't come out to celebrate altho we did go to visit him and his fiancee. Later o.h. and I went for a meal at a place we visit often but unusually, the meal was a let down and after I complained, they refunded the bill and gave me a specially prepared dessert for free. It was supposed to be a sharing dessert but with o.h. being diabetic and not liking strawberries, I got to eat the lot lol We also were given a free round of drinks and as O.h. will never refuse alcohol, it meant I had to drive home as I hadn't had booze, I rarely do as won't risk being in an accident. When we got in he sat in his recliner chair and fell asleep!! He had let my birthday creep up on him so I only got chocolate, the good old stopgap but he has promised to give me some cash towards my much needed new specs when I can find some frames I like. So much for me losing weight!

However today a bit more lottery luck came my way, 4 numbers so £178, that means I have a better choice of frames yippee!

Anyway thanks again Elizabeth for this thread and your kind words and thanks to all. I did receive some pretty cards from old pals and of course, my son's usual lovely card with nice words.
