I live in Scotland and both my optician and OH's are constantly advertising free hearing tests. Huge posters in their windows, leaflets through the door, letters to existing customers etc. |

Think the cheaper ones are just amplifiers i.e. make louder, not much help if the problem is tone range or blurring of sound but if they're that cheap try them first! |

Hubby waited months for NHS ones and then had enormous problems with them irritating his ears and making them sore . They changed the plastic tubing but the new tube was no better and he was told hard luck that's all we do !! |

Anyone know anything about the poppit hearing aid? I should have a proper national health or private one but that is a concession to old age I am reluctant to make. One you can just pop in and pop out, would seem ideal. |
