apart from creating world peace of course, is..................

Get on a train

Turn off all electronic or tinny music sounds that I could hear coming from headphones.

Take phones away from anyone who's conversation I can hear above everyone else.

Slap all the people who have their feet on the seats.

These people wouldn't b allowed back on the train until they have been to manners school.

Then I'd get off the train, and put my feet up at number 10

What would you do?

:-D

SheilaSomerset Report 5 Sep 2015 17:01

Well I hope you won't be putting your feet up on the chairs at No 10...

Lynda ~ Report 5 Sep 2015 17:04

It can be as bad on the buses Newby, that'll be my next job :)

Only with my shoes off Sheila, well they'd be my chairs wouldn't they :)

Newby Report 5 Sep 2015 17:11

But if you were Prime minister.. you would not know what a train is except when your Ministers talked about the NEW, amazing H20 or HS2 thingy that is going to make everyone's life fantastic.. you would be off in Cornwall at the moment surfing and wearing cheap flip flops ;-)

Newby

Newby Report 5 Sep 2015 17:21

TBH if I was prime minister my first step would be to cut the members of the House of Lords in half.. would probably ****** up my Christmas list but would make me a heck of a lot more popular with the public who pay my wages... :-0

Lynda ~

Lynda ~ Report 5 Sep 2015 19:42

I use the HS1 quite a bit now Newby, and love it, so I will carry on using when I'm PM, my people will like me for that :-D I love Corwall, and have many pairs of cheapo flip flops, so I'm already well in ;-)

As for House of Lords, I Visited Parliament last week, but wasn't allowed to sit on the green sofa's, so my first day as PM, I'd have a sneaky sit :-D

Well, if I had to be Prime minister of the current Government (shudder) the first thing I'd do would be to get rid of Ian Duncan-Smith. He's got nothing on me, so I would have no problem with him trying to 'out' me. :-D

First
I would sort unemployment out
Every town has unused Factory's and shops
So get them up and running making everyday things we all need
Sanitary goods toilet rolls baby milk nappies kids
the list is endless ect
All sold at a small profit that's ploughed back into opening more Factories and shops
After paying the staff decent living wages
And make us proud to buy British once again

Secondly Crime
Open up all the disused oil rigs up
and send all the murderers kiddy fiddlers and people who make our lives unsafe
to live on them
Give them fishing rods and water sanitation equipment

Thirdly
Kick the EEC into touch
Especially the French Farmers
The EEC has conned us with grants and incentives
not to produce
Hoping one day we will lose the knowledge of old
passed on from father to son Farmers
and many Farms shut down for housing
So we have to import all our food making those countries wealthy and ours poor
Lets pick up the pieces up and start producing more of our own food again

Fourth
Open up Ramsgate ferry port and kick the French lorry drivers
causing problems in to touch
Bring our goods in and out through Belgium and Holland
and hit France in the pocket

Fifth
Make all the MPS pensions the same as what our OAPs get a pittence
and stop their expenses till the country is on its feet again
If they want more money they then have to work for it

Sixth
Half our over seas aid by
Send only goods produced in this country and shipped by our ships planes ect
No more fancy wines or skimming off the money for Foreign officials and Governments
FREE MONEY has to stop

Seventh
See that everybody who lives here gets the very best NHS treatments when they need them
and produce our own drugs at a fraction of what the NHS are charged for them
Also more Nurses and less white collar workers so more Indians and less chiefs

Eighth
Give allowances to Grandparents that do childcare
so the child's parents can go to work
It would work out much cheaper than nursery fees at 70% funding from the Government

Ninth
Provide better care for the people leaving the Armed forces
You cant train people to kill
then at the end of their duty throw them back into the community
and expect all to be well

Tenth and final change
Give all old people free utility bills
They have paid enough in their life time Nobody should go cold in their old age
and its not like the Companies cant afford it :-D :-D :-D

Remove VAT from female sanitary products, and from Nappies.

Only give child benefit to the first 2 births, (not retrospective) and then only if the children live in the UK. Sure, there'd have to be clauses covering multiple births, adoption or fostering.

Insist that visitors not from the EU have medical insurance, and put a system in place for the NHS to recover treatment costs.

Raise the age for 'free' prescriptions in line with state OAP age.

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 6 Sep 2015 10:21

You have a point there, Detective, about family benefits for children living in the UK.

My recollection is that the person who has care of the children (when I was younger it was the mother) is the one who received the family allowance as it was called then.

If the children live on a day-to-day basis overseas with a mother, grandparent etc. then that person ought to be the one who claims child benefit from the government in whose country they live.

I fail to see how someone who does not have daily care of children has a legitimate claim to child benefit.

Am I behind the times with this logic?

Mayfield

Mayfield Report 6 Sep 2015 11:27

Force them to make Wagon Wheels as big as they used to! :-D

RolloTheRed

RolloTheRed Report 6 Sep 2015 12:24

I managed to track down Weston's Wagon Wheels in the co-op. Like Mayfield I thought they were a fraction of their former size or is it just that my hands were smaller back then? The Australian ones are not the same.

Thanks to the sell off of the UK confectionary industry to Kraft, Nestle and others it is getting more and more difficult to put on weight as I detest all the ersatz products foisted on us.
:-(

So as PM I would restore real wagon wheels and bring back Fry's and dark Bourneville chocolate with nuts.

I've another idea for when I am PM......

I'd make summer last until November and start again in January, with Spring in the middle, I'd ban winter and autumn

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 6 Sep 2015 18:38

I am with you on that one Lynda :-D :-D
And ban snow that is slushy or gone hard and icy :-D :-D

Looks like I could get in to number 10, just need a few more votes :)

Sheila, you can have Autumn and winter from December 12th to the 14th, see Iam a very accomodating PM, now can I have your vote :)
