Could have been worse, I might have been Lady Macbeth :-)

Funny how things stick isn't it, I can still recite this even though it's 40 odd years since I read it.

"Come, you spirits
That tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here,
And fill me from the crown to the toe top-full
Of direst cruelty. Make thick my blood.
Stop up the access and passage to remorse,
That no compunctious visitings of nature
Shake my fell purpose, nor keep peace between
The effect and it! "

ah Beatrice, Emma Thompson in the photo... I look rather more like she did in Nanny McPhee ...

'Much ado about nothing', I went to see the play at the theatre but had to leave early to catch the last train, I never did find out how it ended :-( maybe it is time to read it.

Nothing?
Nothing comes of nothing; speak again.
I cannot heave my heart into my mouth ...

well that's rather gross, now that I think. Anyway I can generally remember three lines of almost anything :-)

actually that's probably about the only Shaxpeer I can recite off the top of my head.

Much Ado is one that I missed entirely.

Hamlet the philosophical obsessed enigma :-D

Cordelia, " Good my lord,
You have begot me, bred me, loved me: I
Return those duties back as are right fit,
Obey you, love you, and most honour you.
Why have my sisters husbands, if they say
They love you all? Haply, when I shall wed,
That lord whose hand must take my plight shall carry
Half my love with him, half my care and duty:
Sure, I shall never marry like my sisters,
To love my father all."

Romeo and Juliet I read as a teenager which is probably the best time to read it, it was a few years after the Franco Zeffirelli film came out, and the school showed it in the assembly hall, much teenage sighing over Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey lol. Happy days !
