why isn't there a sports channel that doesn't involved field n track, balls of any kind,

namely Archery, Shooting, etc, these sports involve skills, talent, mental ability rather than Physical fitness...........

Sharron

Sharron Report 15 Sep 2015 10:36

Why is there a sports channel at all?

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 15 Sep 2015 11:22

Because you have let him have the doofer again lol :-D :-D

Ive had an idea

Put the parental control on the sports channels :-D :-D

Sharron

Sharron Report 15 Sep 2015 11:27

No!

He will think his mother has been round!

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 15 Sep 2015 11:28

Then you will have to watch sport all day

Personally I would rather
pick my eyes out with a pin :-D :-D

Sharron

Sharron Report 15 Sep 2015 11:34

Either would be preferable to having his mother come round.

JoyBoroAngel Report 15 Sep 2015 11:39

Try growing garlic up the path and a crucifix on your front door

Kept my Mother in law well away
for years :-D :-D

But I always kept a big stake and a 3 pound hammer
behind the door for emergency's :-D :-D

I do hope the screaming is toned down, Sylvia.

I admit to playing a lot of tennis when I was young and I often watched it on telly but not now. I use the 'off' button rather than mute the sound as I am disillusioned with it all.

Denburybob

Denburybob Report 15 Sep 2015 19:13

Football, cricket, etc. are not sports, they are games.

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 15 Sep 2015 19:30

OK sport, what's the distinction because you've lost me?

Denburybob

Denburybob Report 15 Sep 2015 19:48

I've no idea. I just thought I would throw it in to see the reaction. When my B-in-L's team, Birmingham City loses (which is most of the time) he is like a bear with a sore head. I shout at him, "IT'S ONLY A BLOODY GAME" Personally, I have no interest in competitive "sports".

seems that the Women's Tennis governing body wants to ban grunting ................. but it won't affect the professionals already playing

they've been talking about it for at least 5 years :-(

will it ever happen?

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 15 Sep 2015 20:27

If it ever happens, Sylvia, I'll start watching tennis again. It was one of the few sports I always enjoyed playing which I did almost every summer's day between the ages of 11 and 16. Can't wait for the grunting to be over and I can settle down to watch again.

Sharron

Sharron Report 15 Sep 2015 21:52

Of course, should OH's mother come round here, there would likely be some sport worth watching, bareknuckle fighting, jousting, kick boxing.

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 16 Sep 2015 00:32

That's fair game, Sharron.

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 16 Sep 2015 14:01

When we were talking
I always found chocolate laxative cornflake Cakes
went down right well when mine came over

The kids always knew
not to eat the extra large ones in the blue papers ;-) ;-)

When I said I had no interest in sport, I was not including beach volleyball.

Sharron

Sharron Report 20 Sep 2015 15:20
