Will you be getting up to see it?.................................

From the UK, the moon starts to enter the Earth's shadow at 01:10 early on Monday morning.

The moon will be completely within the shadow from 03:11 to 04:24. The eclipse ends when the moon leaves the shadow at 0624.

It will be getting light here. May see it, it's 05.11 - 06.24 if we see it the same time as you.

At a guess Margee's in Canada or USA

I'm going to put my alarm on Von, although I will probably wake up before that to have a tiddle :-D

I should imagine it'll look quite spectacular in the early light Pat

SylviaInCanada Report 27 Sep 2015 21:30

it's going to start at around 7 pm here ............ when it will still be light.

I think it will be dark by about 7:25 pm or so, so hopefully we'll see some of the Blood Moon ............ I heard someone say this morning that it will last about 70 minutes.

I usually have a three o'clock wee too Ann. AllI have to do is open my eyes and remember to look out of the window.
Ann if you DO wake as usual could you send 'get out of bed' vibes my way please.
I will do the same for you.

I went out a little while ago but there was a lot of fast moving cloud so didn't get a very good picture. Will pop out again later

We've just been out trying to take photos of it ................ the full eclipse is past, and a sliver of moon was showing as the shadow moved away.

Fantastic!

Amazing

PatinCyprus

PatinCyprus Report 28 Sep 2015 05:59

Saw some of it, all dark to the shadow beginning to move away and the light coming back to a sliver of the moon. Too tired to watch any longer. Have had daylight for some time now.

Looked at the moon about 01:40 when it could have been a bit squashed. On the other hand that might have been the angle of vision through double-glazing
At 03:35 the sky was cloudy :-(

Congratulations to everyone who had a view.

Didn't see a blooming thing other than clouds in Toronto !!

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 28 Sep 2015 16:17

It was actually much darker than I anticipated, so it was very hard to see the shadowed part against the dark sky, but the exposed sliver was very bright.

The colour was more like a very very dark red rather than the orangey red all the media was saying to expect

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 28 Sep 2015 16:44

Very orangey red here, quite spooky.

While I was looking at the blood moon, I saw a plane pass over it, what a fantastic view that must of been, bet some great pictures were taken.
