Mersey, I should think the service in the conservatory was moving for everyone concerned. Is Flossy OK? I notice that someone mentioned your Mum, so is she OK too? <3

To everyone else and to Mersey and Fly, I hope you all had a good morning.


Hubby not back from the church service and heritage centre yet and I've been spending the morning watching the service on telly while tidying up a huge pile of loose papers I had. At the same time my thoughts were with those family members who were lost during both World Wars and in thankfulness that by Dad and two of Mum's brothers came back safely. The service always brings tears to my eyes.

Lots of feelings while watching, sadness for all concerned, despondency for those suffering and for those unable to help and thankfulness for those who could and can help, guilt that I never do more to honour lost family members, gratefulness that some came back and, perhaps more pertinent at the moment, wishing that those of my family still serving can finish their service safely.

I expect everyone else feels the same.

slow but sure here Fly and I have just had my first proper meal for a week, albeit a ping dinner. :-D

No cooking here and no pinging either (good idea that, though - I'm all for not wasting energy, mine included :-D :-D).

I'm really lucky not to have any cooking to do today and don't I know it.

It's going to be a surprise dinner but it will be a typically-English roast of one kind or another. Hubby, young 'un and son in law love their roast dinners :-D Not sure who'll be cooking as son IL often does it and daughter loves to cook when she feels like it (got to be in the mood like me). Doesn't really matter as I eat anything put in front of me.

Good afternoon All.

Sat and watched the Rememberance Service on TV and bawled me eyes out. It is something about watching all those Old Soldiers marching past the Cenotaph so proudly that gets me every year.

The wind must have been blowing in the right direction because we heard the cannon salute in our living room.

No Mr M. you cheeky beggar, have you seen me dance? I think not!!!

Just chucked a chicken in the oven, for me, Beloved and the pooch

Before I go, I realize I never told you all that it is warm and sunny here ..... NOT.

It's bucketting down and if I wasn't getting a free dinner I would not turn out. :-D

By the way, a friend rang this morning and says we're in for a real storm tonight and they've given it the name Abigail.

Anyone heard that? :-S

Told my grandaughter they've named a big storm after her :-D :-D
