My kids ate what was placed in front of them. We had a 2 acre patch of organic veg, yes complete with slugs, lol the kids were involved with that and the raising of our animals which were slaughtered for our freezer. Never a moan from any of them.

Kids today have too much input on their food choices....I can remember being told "if you don't eat your dinner you'll get it for breakfast". I ate my dinner!

LadyScozz, my daughter went through a stage of only wanting raw veg, which was fine by me. Even if it was a Sunday roast, she would have her raw carrots and cabbage with gravy on them. Weird, but she ate them and her raw veg was better than our boiled stuff with the vitamins denatured.

Thankfully she grew out of it

Not "irresponsible" advertising, but really awful timing........

I don't watch much tv, but if there's something I really want to watch at dinner time, I'll sit in front of the lobotomy box with a plate on my lap.

At dinner time......... WHY OH WHY do they advertise treatments for toenail fungus??

Almost enough to put me off my sprouts.

My immediate reaction to the advert was 'there is going to be trouble'.

Now, what was it advertising?

I remember some radio show 'yers and yers ago' when some character boasting about his allotment said, "my sprarts are like cabbages on telegraph poles.
The only thing we let our son get away with refusing was asparagus. We loved it! Now he does too..

As a child I detested vegetables.

Cooked vegetables! In those days, everything was boiled into mush.

But....... I loved raw vegetables........ everything except raw potatoes (but I did try them!)

I begged & pleaded with my mother to have my veggies raw, but she always said.....

"NO, it's too much bother" :-S

I still can't work out how it was a bother.

Thank you Det.....

Now if they concocted an advert where the child refused to eat sweets or drink some teeth rotting drink I'd be right behind them :-D

A local farm shop trialled sprouts dipped in chocolate and packed in presentation boxes. The following year they didn't bother ;-)

Sue, I have no idea where my daughter gets her evil ideas from :-)

Definitely best straight from the Field Bobtanian.
When I was an ag lab, I got told off for eating them as I was harvesting them.....

I absolutely love sprouts.......specially raw.......when I was at work some colleagues had smallholdings, buying spouts by the stone was normal!!
