I wrap it securely in several layers of tin foil and leave in the slow cooker for six/eight hours. It's a show stopper ;-) |

I once holidayed in The Isle of Wight, the Hotel we stayed in called this suet pudding. "Stand up Dick". the old ladies in our group had a great time asking for more. ;-) |

My mother used to make it with suet in a white cloth bag. Nowadays at hotels, it's nothing like that, and it is invariably a like an ordinary pudding and served with custard. |
