My brother was a Mason, although I don't think any other family members were.

OH's father was also a member, and was also Grand Master

It might be interesting to take a look.

Allan ...............

if you take a free trial with ancestry do make sure that you send them an email cancelling at least 3 days BEFORE your trial is up.

ie, not just give them notice, but plenty of notice :-)

Alas, Sylvia, it would appear that I am not eligible for the free trial period as I availed myself of one a couple of years ago.

I did however do a preliminary search on the Register and my grandfather was not listed :-(

why am I not surprised??

5 of my cousins emigrated to Australia in the 1950s/early 1960s. Most of the families sailed to Australia, and all apparently were almost struck speechless as the ship entered Fremantle Harbour to see my brother's name emblazoned across several warehouses in the docks area.

Of course, it wasn't my brother, but has turned out to be an ancestor who had the same first name, same second initial and same surname who emigrated sometime around 1870/1880

He's in the Fremantle Lodge :-D

Just found my paternal grandfather in the lists. That's something else that was never mentioned about him.

Allan ................

can you take out another email address?? That should allow you a free trial.

Use one of the free sites like gmail, or Yahoo

I have 3 accounts with a gmail address for use in certain situations.

I know of several people on here who have had multiple free trails with ancestry, fmp, etc
