If you had the green tree displayed yesterday you might be able to see it again by accessing it from your browser's history file. I wouldn't recommend doing anything with it though.

Regarding missing aspects, the hot matches didn't work properly.

My 'new' tree has also disappeared overnight. I did do some work on it yesterday, the green version, and it's all still there this morning. i prefer the green one and although I've been a member since 2003 I can't remember the layout being as it was yesterday.


Det.... thanks for the ipad info. Mine is a second generation but when I bring up my tree on it every time I go to look at something else ie Ancestry, when I go back to the tree it reverts every time to the home person, me! This is a very annoying, I was hoping the 'new' one wouldn't do this.

I suspect they tried an update which was not successful so they tried to revert to the previous issue but got it wrong and went back too far.

They logged everyone out to make sure they picked up the earlier version but possibly didn't log every one out when they changed the green tree for the current one, so some are still able to see the green tree.

Bearing in mind the problems some members had with their trees a few years ago when they continued to use the green tree after the update, it would be prudent not to work on your tree if you have the green display.

Current Issue should be 3.4.3

I'm back from the physio (ouch!)

I thought I'd have another look at the new tree, and try to find "other trees" (with the help from TenerifeSun)....... but....... I'm back to the "OLD" tree (not the flock wallpaper one, the one that was here early this week).

what's going on?

Maybe the techies thought they'd try the new tree at a "suitable" time........ when all the UK people are asleep?

I can only get the tree which was introduced a few years ago, not the reverted-to-the-old one (with flock paper) everyone has been talking about.

From what others have said, it appeared during the day (when I wasn't on line) then disappeared again. Inky1 emailed Estelle who alerted the Techies. It didn't oughta 'ave been there!

Just like virtually everyone, I had to sign in again on both machines. For what it's worth the iPad is a first generation "hand me up" from one of the offspring. It doesn't (even) have a camera ;-)

Det. How did you get the new tree layout on your iPad? I've got it on my PC but can't get it on the iPad. I've tried via Google and from my favourites. I prefer the new version.

How come people are still seeing the 'old' version of the tree? It might have reverted during the day, but seems to be the 'new' c3 years old one there now.
Viewed on both PC and iPad, so not restricted to one device. :-S

I haven't attempted any research or work - but the return to this layout of the tree is very welcome - instant three generations and as many same-generation brothers, sisters, marry-ins as can fit from left to right and easily explored otherwise

Mine is the same as yesterday. I have not been on it for a couple of weeks, but it does not look any different to me.

Have we gone back to the little men with pineapples on their heads?

The above referred to my PC I've just tried the iPad and it's still displaying the old tree. The new one is better and much quicker too.

There are a number of chat threads started today concerning the fact that the GR Tree has changed. Which, for those of us with a few years membership, means an apparent reversion to an earlier display. Seems that no announcement has been issued. Maybe someone would like to post a notice telling the paying punters what is happening?

Oi the much derided flock wallpaper fromt ITV and before days has returned!
What next? Flares, platform shoes and FireUpTheQuattro?
It is def a lot faster - I got it to dl a full tree of 4000 records in < 3 secs.Maybe there's life in the old dog yet Errol should have stayed around..

If you don't like the wallpaper just feed it into something like Stylish and you can have any color / background you fancy.
