Today, at a T*sco's, there were 2 cashpoints, with painted footprints behind a white line, suggesting you join one queue or the other.
Both cashpoints wee being used, so I stood in the middle, thereby creating one queue for both cashpoints.
I'm so glad I did, as the person who was there first (whom it would have been logical to stand behind) took ages.
I thereby managed to get to the cashpoint before the person who turned up after me - as I was in the middle, she was confused as to were she should stand. :-D :-D :-D

There was an elderly lady trying to push in the queue in the card shop today. She eventually went to the front asking if she could jump in as her husband was disabled and couldn't stand for long. Someone let her in of course. The pair of them walked quite happily around after that, but we got in the lift together, where she barged straight past me as we got out without so much as a "by your leave".

We use two local banks...... and there's never been more than two people in line ahead of me!

I went on Tuesday, and was the only customer. :-D

The supermarket........ arggghhhhhhhh........ two checkouts open, and one of them was 12 items or less.

Same here!

That's why I like queues where there is just one line, with 2 or 3 'tellers', and you just peel off when a 'teller' is free.
