Dear Uzzi

Hello

Not a clothes item or perfume but a book about how to trace my costermonger ancestors.

I am an avid collector of books, DVD's and things called videos!

Take gentle care
Best wishes

I remember when I got my Sicklesmith and Spear carriers book, I was over the moon as it´s about the Staniforths in Beighton. Elizabeth believe me that is a well thumbed book, in fact it is probably my most precious book.

For my Christmas-time birthday my daughter designed and printed out some vouchers for 'Coffee and Cake'.
That will be great meeting up to shop and spend them together.

a Star Trek Deep Space Nine vintage coffee mug in its original box ;)

I prefer Next Generation, but this one was the best because while the tall dude was browsing in an antique shop with my mum while I was busy working, he picked it out himself, and that was a nice change from him picking out something *for* himself

AnnCardiff I am going to look up that book ... for him!

AnnCardiff

not started reading it yet but the reviews are excellent - he has written many books on the same theme - hysterical apparently :-D

tall dude was a teenaged boy at a time when any teenaged boy worth his salt had perfected his Zeppelin air guitar routine

Strangely, one of my favourite presents was a mug!!
Lots of the family (and friends) went to my sisters for Christmas day, and there was a 'Secret Santa' for the adults.
I got a mug, with different shades of tea on it - including my favourite 'Builders'. :-D

Hopefully, I'll get back to temping soon (am at home with 'walking' pneumonia at the moment), so I can take my mug in, and get perfect tea every time :-D :-D :-D

JoonieCloonie Report 11 Jan 2016 21:23

good thread, I like hearing what other people got for Christmas!

tall dude also gave me a fuzzy nightshirt with black and white sheep or cows or something on it ... very flatteringly, about 3 sizes too small, that I can only get on because it stretches

I could put it on and look like a very eyecatching overstuffed sausage and make him feel bad for getting me a not useful pressie, or hope he forgets about it, short-term memory problems and all

... or I could lose 3 sizes ... :-D

meat probe thermometer! :-D

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 11 Jan 2016 22:42

my OH once bought me a shocking pink nylon many layered nightdress which would have fitted someone who weighed twice as much as me - when I turned over in bed the nightdress didn't and I was nearly strangled - perhaps that was what was intended

a meat probe thermometer? I know where I would be sticking that probe and it would not be in dead meat :-D

JoonieCloonie

JoonieCloonie Report 11 Jan 2016 22:53

trade you Ann :-)

I'd go for a meat thermometer myself. The dial on mine has fogged over.

lavender I could offer you some chocolate-topped gluten-free shortbread cookies if you'd like to barter

my niece made them

.................... they're disgusting :-)
