Don't beat your own drum Bob :-D

Denburybob Report 19 Jan 2016 19:48

You may not believe this, but I still have those drumsticks. They are well over 50 years old. (As am I). I found them when we cleared out the old family home about five years ago.

He must be the fella who said "I got lumbered with me mates girls friend at the pictures and she wouldn't stopped yacking and trying to nick me chewing gum......." Joy :-D

Aw shucks, Bob. :-D

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 19 Jan 2016 20:12

You could be right there Island. Lumbered is how I felt so he probably felt the same. I took some persuading to make a foursome so he may well have been the same.

I never made a foursome up again - I am a quick learner.

Gawd, was I pleased to see the ex - much more life and fun in him.

:-D :-D :-D

Not sure if I should ask Joy.........but how did you find him boring in the pictures? :-S Did he hog the chocs? :-0

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 20 Jan 2016 11:34

You may ask Island - I was a good girl who liked a good time and a good laugh and I still do. He remained expressionless from start to finish.

Hog the chocs! He didn't even buy any. :-0

He had no chat during the interval. I think if someone had tipped over and scattered ice cream everywhere it would still have left him without even a glimmer of smile across his face :-S

He did buy my ticket though - AND I LET HIM. :-D

so GR saw fit to delete my reported posting - for what reason I have no idea, as I repeated the story further on :-S

GeordiePride Report 20 Jan 2016 15:42

A workmate asked me would I make a foursome up with his fiancée's friend and I said I would. He described her as being very pleasant and attractive so I couldn't wait to meet her. I met them in Newcastle and I got the shock of my life when I saw her. She was 6' 2" / 6' 3" tall, head and shoulders taller than little me and I felt so uncomfortable all night and I was glad when the night ended.

Only ever been on one Blind Date <3 ... still with him 43 years later. :-D

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 20 Jan 2016 18:38

Come to think of it - so did we! We're still best friends with couple who introduced us more than 40 years ago.

The only other blind date was one arranged by a friend while we were at secondary school. It turned out he and I had 'been out' together while we were at Primary School. Oh well, the film was OK. :-)

Island Report 20 Jan 2016 18:57

I met my fella on a sort of blind date too.......30 years ago :-D

I thought the thread was about bad dates though?

My bad date - obviously not with my dearly beloved soul mate - was quite some time before.
I was 16 and the first date did have the distraction of being taken to a party, even though his conversation consisted of 'did I mind him being 5 years older' than I. The follow up date was spent on the sidelines of the local rugby field - on boxing day morning if I remember correctly - (with his dad!!!) watching boyfriend play rugger. There was no third date.
