Does anyone have any photo's of the Railway Tavern, Cookham Rise, while it was still a pub. Interested as it's where my parents first met, my mum was working there at the time, must have been late 40's early 50's

There are no photos attached to that link Ann. I can't find any using google.

Have you been in touch with the local archives or library as they may have some old photos?

If they have a local History Society they well may have some photos.

I have googled but have had no luck finding any pictures, there are some of what it is now, a Costa coffee shop

scrolling down through the many pictures there's a very old black and white picture of the pub with cyclists outside - looks Victorian - on some site called "Phipps"

I can get the photo of the Tavern as it is now as a Costa Coffee shop but nothing from when it was a tavern.

I've looked at the site you give and I can't see any photos from Derbyshire.

Not sure why you are seeing something different.

go on this site - scroll down till you get to "pubs in the past" - click on that and a short way down you'll find a good picture of the pub as it was

If so then I still can't see a photo of the Railway Tavern Cookham.

There is one of the Railway Inn but I think that is in Coventry or one of the Railway Hotel with cyclists and a horse and cart with people sitting on the cart.

Think I must be going mad!!!!!

Kath, I don't think you are going mad, I've just looked on that sight and can't see anything re railway tavern COOKHAM

Kim, keep an eye on postcards on Ebay, though I can't see one at the moment you might just come across one from the right period which shows the tavern.
