I survived a serious head injury in 1958 and another in 1959
I survived an RTA that broke my pelvis in four places in 1994
I survived an accident in 2013 that wrecked my left leg.
I have survived near bankruptcy
I've survived a great deal of foolishness
I've lost those who gave a damn about me (wife & brothers excluded)
I've been a burden, I've been a crutch.
I can read and write in a world filled with fiction.
I use the personal pronoun I too often.
I can communicate and hopefully I still make sense.

Me too. I only need to look around and always see very many worse off than we are.

me too

When I'm worried and I can't sleep
I count my blessing instead of sheep
And I fall asleep, counting my blessings

When my bankroll is gettin' small
I think of when I had none at all
And I fall asleep, counting my blessings

I think about a nursery
And I picture curly heads
And one by one I count them
As they slumber in their beds

If you're worried and you can't sleep
Just count your blessings instead of sheep
And you'll fall asleep counting your blessings.

So if you're worried and you can't sleep
Just count your blessings instead of sheep
And you'll fall asleep counting your blessings.
