I loved his Radio 2 morning show with all his sidekicks and witty letters. A haven of gentle sanity in a mad world. |

A tiny anecdote, when I was working in a record shop way back when Terry made a record ( Floral dance era) we did a stocktake, the album covers in the racks 'should' have matched with the records on the shelving, but one album cover was missing...someone had nicked Terry! Of all the record covers you might have expected to go, it might be thought that was the least likely...but perhaps goes to show how popular he was :-) |

He always welcomed me home after a night shift at the local hospital & gave me the energy to get the kids breakfasted & off to school in the 80s. He will be much missed. |

Do you remember his show in the 80s when he and Ray Moore (another lovely man) were back to back and they'd bounce their humour off each other. It always made my day. |

I heard this on the news at six thirty this morning in Lanzarote. I have to admit it knocked me sideways. I have always been a big fan , and admired his self deprecating tongue in cheek humour. Much of his charitable works was never publicised and he would often let others take much of the credit. |

I also shall miss him. In the early eighties - he organised a trek for 'where is Basingstoke'. Went on for weeks. I thought it was hilarious as I had not heard of it until we moved house and it was somewhere else to shop. |

In the seventies he used to holiday at a little village by the beach on Cardigan bay not too far from where I lived. |
