RIP Terry. <3
His rendition of 'Floral Dance' brought back horrific memories of having to dance to the tune through Mevagissey years before :-S

In the seventies he used to holiday at a little village by the beach on Cardigan bay not too far from where I lived.
One of my friends sons used the same pub and he was so natural and mixed with everyone there....a lovely man...one of the best..could make you smile with his gentle humour...so different to what the so called alternative comedy is now...

Condolences to his wife and family....
We will all miss you Sir Terry. <3

I also shall miss him. In the early eighties - he organised a trek for 'where is Basingstoke'. Went on for weeks. I thought it was hilarious as I had not heard of it until we moved house and it was somewhere else to shop.

Ray Moore - any man who could make me laugh at 5.00 a.m. was a gem.

I heard this on the news at six thirty this morning in Lanzarote. I have to admit it knocked me sideways. I have always been a big fan , and admired his self deprecating tongue in cheek humour. Much of his charitable works was never publicised and he would often let others take much of the credit.

When I was working friends emIled his Wake up to Wogan show requesting a mention for my 50th birthday I stalled my car at the taffic lights when he came on the radio saying Happy birthday Paul!a he also sent me car sticker, I was happy to be one of his TOGS

God Bless you Tel. I have shed a tear for you today. Your Janet and John stories still make me go into hysterics.

How strange it is that
someone we have never met can leave a gap in our lives. <3

Do you remember his show in the 80s when he and Ray Moore (another lovely man) were back to back and they'd bounce their humour off each other. It always made my day.

He always welcomed me home after a night shift at the local hospital & gave me the energy to get the kids breakfasted & off to school in the 80s. He will be much missed.

RIP Terry. <3 <3 <3

A tiny anecdote, when I was working in a record shop way back when Terry made a record ( Floral dance era) we did a stocktake, the album covers in the racks 'should' have matched with the records on the shelving, but one album cover was missing...someone had nicked Terry! Of all the record covers you might have expected to go, it might be thought that was the least likely...but perhaps goes to show how popular he was :-)

I loved his Radio 2 morning show with all his sidekicks and witty letters. A haven of gentle sanity in a mad world.

I truly loved this guy on the air plus all the terrific things he did for people. For so long he was the voice of the UK a ray of good humour on wet working winter mornings. A true ace. Gutted.
