Do you remember the Sherbet Fountains?

They used to be 3d when I was little. I used to have 3d a day pocket money and 6d on Weekend days.So I often bought sherbet fountains from the little shop a few houses away. We lived in Carmarthen then.

I used to throw away the Licorice "straw" and pour the white sherbert into the palm of my hand and lick it!! :-0 :-0 YUCK! :-0 :-0 :-D

**Ann**

**Ann** Report 2 Feb 2016 17:26

Oh yes Jem, our little tuck shop used to sell the multi coloured sherbert in the large sweetie jars...4oz used to last for ages and all your fingers would be stained from dipping them in the bag :-D :-D :-D

JemimaFawr

JemimaFawr Report 2 Feb 2016 17:34

and all those delicious sweets you could buy by the quarter from those big jars on the shelf

Pineapple Chunks, Sherbet Bonbons, Chocolate Chewing Nuts, Sherbet Pips, Assorted Boiled Sweets, Lemon Sherbets ooooo!

No wonder I have had trouble with my teeth :-0 :-0 :-D :-D

**Ann**

**Ann** Report 2 Feb 2016 17:39

Flying sherbert saucers that disintegrated in your mouth :-D :-D

Not forgetting when Smiths brought out their flavoured crisps....think it was salt n vinegar or cheese n onion....the queue for the tucky was down the road.

We used to keep our 5 bob dinner money...and every day we would have a cream bun, packet of crisps and a choc bar :-0 :-0 :-0

If my mum found out she would have gone mad :-D :-D

JemimaFawr Report 2 Feb 2016 17:52

Yes I think it was cheese and onion that came out first. Mind, I rather liked the little bags of salt you sprinkled on them. :-D

I used to save my dinner money for a horse riding lesson on a Saturday! Until the novelty wore off.

The first time I had a lesson, I was on a leading rein from the riding instuctor.
We went on our ride, through countryside. We rode through a field and in the next field there was a stallion that was going nuts to get at the mares. It leapt the hedge and started trying to get at our horses.

The driving instructor told me to get off quickly as my horse started bucking and rearing, but my foot got caught in the stirrup. The girl instructor was also now panicking a bit but I managed to get off. We got the horses out of a gate quickly, but my mare was so nervy by now that she walked on my foot!

OOOOOOO! :-( :-( :-( :-(

You never want a horse standing on your foot, believe me! :-0 :-D :-D :-D :-D

Afternoon all. :-)

Have you all been busy today or snoozing?

Came back from coffee and went straight out for lunch. Delicious too.

GP, don't read this but I had roast beef with all the trimmings followed by ginger sponge and custard. I feel like a stuffed pig - but, girls, you'd be proud of me as I cleaned my plate. :-D

Joy, I've been out for lunch too :-D

Salmon and crayfish bake, chips and peas. That was quite enough for me, then J ordered a chocolate cookies and cream sundae with 2 spoons :-0

Well, I couldn't let him struggle with that on his own ;-) ;-)
