Thanks Island :-D

I'll add to that the constant daily reminders of what I was doing 3 or whenever years ago. Yes I know, I don't need reminding and nor does anyone else thanks very much :-|

I just delete them :-P

I was surprised (although I shouldn't have been) when looking at pictures of 'people you might know' last night to see my 13 year old Granddaughter looking back at me. He mum has always been anti FB so I am wondering if she knows. Thinking about it, it is unlikely that she doesn't. I didn't click friend request! :-D

I'm 'friends' with my 13 year old grand daughter on FB.
I suppose we (by that I mean the people I'm friends with, and other members of my family's friends) don't really post anything contentious (to us) on FB. Some people may be offended at talk of miscarriage, breastfeeding, body 'bits' - but none of our 'lot' are.
No-one ever posts naked pics, or is downright crude.
We never have 'slanging' matches, everyone's free to join in, and we just tend to have a laugh. Some of the posts may be a little rude, but at 13 - she's heard most of the words, and has been known to explain a joke to a lovely lady who's 75 going on 30!!
Perhaps this is because our 'friends' on facebook are that - friends, not just random people met online.

My younger daughter and my nephew's wife were due to have their first babies within months of each other - they regularly posted (and still post) any worries etc
We all pitched in to reassure them, especially my eldest - who works in maternity!! :-)

I do ue my real name on FB and thanks being the only one of me have been found by many long lost contacts from all over the world and across generations

they can request to friend and until you accept request they can't access your postings

even then you can choose who can access what

and you can arrange people in groups ;;;ie frriends relatives workmates so only post to 1 group at a time ..thou usually once something is posted anybody can repost it to who they like ..I think ???

I had to learnt to adapt my privacy tho

I seriously think that the old phrase "buyer beware" should be adapted to "user beware" when it comes to FB

Use it

Enjoy it

But be aware of what it means to use it, and of all the dangers.
