My BIL used to work in a factory that made hydrolysed vegetable protein, a flavouring akin to MSG. It involves cooking vegetable protein in hydrochloric acid and then neutralising it. Well, the things he said that used to fall into the 'acid bath' - lunch boxes, specs, hankies, etc.... :-S |
