Depends on the man, some can carry it off some can't.

But absolutely not this style when the hair is white, ever, ever, ever lol especially with a pony tail ( think Gary Glitter)

Nor the grizzly lumberjack style that goes half way down the chest and is invariably ( in one type of US programme at least ) ginger. ( no offence, ginger hair is fine, but it just doesn't appeal to me as a beard colour ). Oh and not on men with bald heads...I just want to turn them upside down :-D

I find it interesting how the likes of Mark Webber can carry what looks like a weeks growth........continually( unless its cos we only see him at weekends!!)

I grew a full beard about 40 tears ago it put years on me
Came in auburn, is grey now nay going white
Why does it grow out of nostrils ears and other orifices?
