It didn't worked for me.

I have had no unread messages showing for about a year. Before that I had 2 messages showing for about 3 years.

I got the same message from Support, tried it and it worked for me

I did post a thread on here about doing it, but others said it didn't work for them :-S

According to the site, there are 4 unread messages waiting for me to read them. The technical team tried to sort it out but eventually stated there was nothing that could be done to resolve the matter; proof IMO of the site's instability.

Didn't work for me. I had 3 unread showing, followed the instructions once I had decided the search box was on the left not the right, found five unread going back to 2012, deleted them all, now showing
2 unread!!! I rest my case!.

There are no messages in this folder."

but there are +6 showing ;-)

Incidently you can do the same with sent messages which is quite useful, I can now see there are 26 unread messages there.

Go to your inbox, on the left under 'Search Messages', click on the dropdown menu to the right of [All messages] and select 'unread'.

LB, I was puzzled re the position of the search box but came to the conclusion that whoever replied to Ann is a poor communicator. I think he/she meant 'the dropdown menu on the right in 'Search'.

I don't think they employ the brightest sparks :-0 :-(

I have had Messages +1 for a long time.

It seems to me that GR doesn't employ techies. :-(

I have had one unread message which wouldn't go away which only showed in the last couple of weeks and was most annoying. Just tried the above and it found 3 unread messages going back to 2014! Just read and deleted them and hey presto the one unread message that I had has now disappeared:-D :-D

Strange that they only surfaced in the last couple of weeks :-S

BTW The Search Message Option is on the left hand side :-D

well mine was showing two unread has been for some time even though i answer messages

tried that tip and hey presto it found two messages from 2013 from the same member, both thanking me for info sent

wonder why they suddenly surfaced as there was no email from genes saying there was a message for me .

That has happened a lot lately too .only picked it up when i realised the two unread had changed to three

have deleted so now it shows zero

Estelle hasn't passed on her messages research then?
