:-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\. Just lets stop moaning and get on with our lives like it or not, life is to short to waste on the post mortem of Brexit. This is my very last comment on the matter as I have too many other things to think of

Have I slept through the whole process leading up to 23 June?

I have just heard D Dimbleby (News Westminster) say that DC fought hard.

Am I alone in my belief that DC's approach was lacklustre?

"Why should I do all the hard s**t?"

That will serve as his political epitaph. Lazy, given to "chillaxing with a glass of red wine in his paw" as one disgruntled Tory put it, a political incompetent and a reckless gambler who felt completely entitled to gamble with everyone else's future as well as his own. He gambled that the Scottish referendum would destroy Labour north of the border and won. He gambled that the EU referendum would destroy his enemies inside the Tory party and lost. All gamblers' winning streaks run out sooner later. Then others have to sort out the mess they leave behind them. He obviously feels quite entitled to leave that burden for others too.

One of the worst Prime Ministers ever. Bar none. Good riddance.

Magpie,

Hope you get well soon.

Snied/snide comment???

BrianW Report 25 Jun 2016 09:02

He should not have nailed his colours to the remain mast so firmly.
Having done the negotiation he should have waited to call the referendum until after the public could see the concessions actually put in place.
He lost trust by spending £9million on a biased "factsheet" days before the official opening of the campaign, thus fraudently more than doubling the Remain spending limit.
He also said nothing about how the EU might evolve with us in it, only scare stories about might happen if we leave.
He put out the "Government" case for Remain, even though the Cabinet was split.
Many more I could add.
All in all a catalogue of mis-judgements.
Having lost all credibility he was toast.

Boris Johnson knows how to play the crowd. There was no buffoonery in the speech he made following the declaration.

magpie Report 24 Jun 2016 20:45

I completely disagree with you Robert . David Cameron couldn't possibly stay on,his political life was gambled on this result and he lost. I thought his speech very dignified and from the heart. Why shouldn't his wife be there to support him? They're a devoted couple and draw strength from each other, so why the snied comment?
I too reckon on Michael Gove, a serious politician and a statesman, could be a man to watch. Poor old Corbyn, he's so out of his depth, I just feel sorry for him.

Kay????

I wonder if DC when he steps down in Oct will do so before the Oct budget,so he can say----------dont blame me I had no part.

Robert

Robert Report 24 Jun 2016 19:47

He should have the guts to stay and say "I am Prime Minister. You have decided to leave Europe and I will see it through"

Why was his Wife with him outside No.10 today - just to hold his hand??

He was pushed by the electorate, simple as that.

Boris plays the buffoon I believe. Under that facade is probably a very clever and intelligent man.

David Cameron - never saw any charisma there. In my letter to him of 15 April 2016 I did advise him to 'listen to his people'. He did not, but has now.

Gove could be a good bet.

Corbyn with a background like he has - why he was elected Leader I cannot even guess.

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 24 Jun 2016 12:38

Theresa May? She's played her cards pretty close to her chest.

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 24 Jun 2016 12:28

well I was surprisingly impressed with Gove when I saw him answering questions on Brexit - think he would be good, but doesn't have the charisma of Cameron, though that should not matter really

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 24 Jun 2016 12:19

Yes IGP. Just heard about a motion of no confidence in Corbyn being issued.

I can think of only one good outcome of leaving -the family K will have to look for another cash cow. :-0

InspectorGreenPen

InspectorGreenPen Report 24 Jun 2016 12:06

..... and by all accounts Corbyn won't be around for much longer either.
