Thank you Ann for adding me. I have just spent a frustrating half hour trying to comment on the page. I did manage to put a photo on but couldnt type any message, however when I found I couldnt type anything anywhere I realised it was the keyboard. I plugged it into a different port and I can type again. Computers--Grrr.

Someone added me to the group but I hardly remember anyone, despite the fact I have been a member since 2003. I only began using the boards in 2008 and concentrated on the genealogy side rather than the chat side, so that's probably why I don't recognise the names.

Many folk on the page are having a good old chin wag about the old days, so I will leave them to it. :-D

No wonder I couldn't find it! The "old" GR FB page hasn't been added to for yonks!

I'll look for the "closed group"

Very sad Ann, and many have disappeared so probably/possibly have died or become too unwell to continue staying in touch.

yes you can set it in notifications, if you don't want the emails...

I do believe you can change the email preference on Facebook but need to check how you do it.

However if you wish to leave a group

Go to the group

Click on JOINED, which is at the top of the page usually under the picture
there is a drop down menu and you have a choice there to leave.

As you can tell I am FB illiterate and just stumble along, if I can work out how to invite you I will.


Be aware though that it is a huge thread and because it goes back so far, (i.e. pre 2007) if you have ever fallen out with anyone they will be on there. Hopefully we are all adults and hopefully can ignore those we don't want to speak to but, human nature being what it is...... And the site has moderators. :-) :-)

It is a closed group you need to be invited and added it you are recognised. Have you always had the same name and are you on facebook Bob?

No Brenda it is a new group just set up which now has about 200 members. Are you on facebook?
