Silly? Fine if that's what you think.

That does pretty much sum up the clientele they are aiming for with the coffee morning.

It is one of the reasons I am not staging my event there. Two of the committee had never eaten a bacon sandwich so i was suggesting something a bit radical I suppose.

Can we please not start an argument on this thread which after all is to support a very worthy cause. I don't care what days events are held on or what people do to raise money. All that matters is that we support this very worthy charity which has a very close place in my heart as I am sure it has in many others.

It is a worthy cause, however the money is raised.

Yes, please don't wind me up.

Can you imagine how it would be if the stress made my hair fall out!

When it comes to the way in which the locals see they should organize fundraising, perhaps you are in a majority of one?

Sharron, you are in England?

Just get on with it. You may want to raise more than you have done so to date but it's time to give it legs because summer's almost over.

The people who have sponsored you to the tune of £230+ may well expect to see 'the result' before much longer - especially before autumn arrives.

Also, I expect regular attendees at fund-raising coffee mornings and afternoon teas will almost certainly donate to the particular charity they support.

Your hairdresser may well do it for you and you could have a collection box handy when he/she does so.

Don't faff about .... weather's a-changing. Brrrr :-S

Adding the online link in case anyone wishes to donate

What with the Darts Team, Scrap Dealers (?) and pub regulars, you'll exceed your target by miles. :-D

Sharron Report 7 Sep 2016 18:27

That is an imaginary darts team so they could donate an enormous imaginary amount of money.

I don't know about the scrapyard. the man I was friendly with actually died of cancer not long after Fred died. I left a message on his son's answerphone.

It would be nice to think the committee ladies could find it in their hearts to come along as well.
