Bleedy cheek Barb...do you think I spend me entire life in there :-D :-D :-D :-D

I went to Gladstone Library in the next village of Hawarden, always meant to go and never got round to it. Saw an ad in the local rag for guided tours....so I thought I might go and check it out first.

Fantastic place, lovely building,26 bedrooms for B&B as well, big lounge with log fire newspapers and board games, lovely bistro serving snacks and cream teas. Then there is the main library room...which I was not allowed in :-0 :-0

So I went and put me glasses on to look more intelligent and applied to join :-D :-D :-D

Yes Barb...I live in the Parish of Hawarden...and yes Gladstone spent his latter years living in Hawarden Castle....he was PM four times :-D

His father was a slave owner....and he Gladstone was against abolition...I wonder why :-)

Anyway when slavery was abolished the government compensated his father as he owned 2500 slaves....£106000.00 equivalent of 83 million today :-0
