He's not really high, Sharron.

Honest!!

Just imagine how they did it - okay there may have been a stunt man for the distant pics - but he loves heights, and is paid a fortune.
However, the 'star' is probably no more than 4 foot off the ground (insurance), with a green screen all around him, and the 'height' footage is added after.

And it still scares the living shot out of me!

:-D :-D :-D :-D

I don't like heights either - but the 'leading actor' does nothing for me, so I don't care. I just know he's earning stupid money - and that's going onto the bills of those using that phone/network/hair gel, or whatever they're advertising :-D

And I think - thank goodness I'm using an ancient 'pay as you go' :-D :-D :-D

I absolutely HATE the men in high heeled shoes and padded shorts adverts

They make me cringe and certainly wouldn't make me use the product they are promoting

BUT having worked for Unilever I know that adverts that make you talk are doing the trick because they stick in your mind and subconsciously they come to the fore when looking for the product .

I can't remember though what the pants men are advertising other than high interest rate loans or something :-(

I don't normally watch films or, indeed, read fiction and I would certainly not want to be 'entertained' by something that portrayed a situation like that so I don't think I should have it shown during a programme that I am choosing to watch.

No, I have never watched a Bond film and never wanted to.

maybe ads should have content warnings with the option to skip or watch?
for instance ads about chocolate and Audrey Hepburn might do quite well while death defying helicopter flights (*) to validate yr choice of mobile phone sub may not. It is technically possible so why not ?

Or going a little bit further maybe tv ads could be integrated with yr Google preferences thus forever escaping from fat men in hot pants, would be us pulp fiction gangsters selling car insurance and so on. But whose preferences? What happens when teen grandson has tuned preferences to Levi 511s and free running?

I detest these programs, where the film jumps from shot to shot in 1 second intervals, unwanted background noise (aka music, and sound effects...) eg tipping point, does the cd thing REALLY have to have any added noises? ,

is the so-called suspense noise really necessary when waiting for answers?

thank heaven for subtitles...............WHEN they can keep in sync with the spoken word.....

I like predictive text on the news - always on in the bank - was there one day when there was an item of queues at the border between Gibraltar and Spain - the text read "Jews are being abused at the border" - hysterical
