*sighs*

My daughters did got employment related to their degrees, because they were in demand. Son started an overseas business and employs 47 people (40 of whom are indigenous so he provides incomes for support their families). He uses his qualifications to design tech systems and utility installations in the jungle lolol

Don't assume please.

sue .........

I'm not getting at YOU personally.

You're lucky, your children found employment that they liked and that satisfied them immediately.

Many others do not, and flail around trying to find gainful employment that they like ........... some just have to work at jobs they don't like just for the money.

Even I did that with the first real summer job that I had .............. fancy making Pakamacs on a conveyor line, with yobbos in the Packing Dept thinking they have a right to have a go at every girl because they're god's gift to women????

It paid good money for a 17 year old still at school, but taught me that I never wanted another job like that, and thank heavens it was only for 6 weeks!

Nor did I particularly enjoy my first real job after getting my university degrees .......... 2½ years taught me that I was not made to teach others, although I understand the girls I taught enjoyed my teaching. I learnt that was another job that I should not take.

I was lucky ............. it was my next job that turned out to be where I should be and wanted to be.

Why do you take every comment personally, especially from me???

I was never getting at YOU, just asking general questions based on what I know of many girls (and young men) between the ages of, say, 24 to 40.

The 2 York girls are not alone in having difficulty finding jobs they like .......... especially when it is probably their "name" that could have led to the job offer, plus the possibility that they would have wealthy friends who would patronise whatever establishment it was

All I am trying to say is that I feel the vitriolic vocal criticism of everything they do is hard to understand and seems so very wrong.

magpie Report 26 Oct 2016 08:02

It was James 11 Rollo not the 111! He was replaced by Dutch William 111 and his wife Mary 11, who was the Protestant daughter of James and his then wife Ann Hyde. They in turn were followed by Queen Ann, George 1st of Hanover and the rest as they say, is history. I agree, your post was twaddle!
bob, the daughters of Prince Andrew are the York sisters, surely everyone knows that?!!!!!!
Sylvain, I totally agree with your post. Too much venom is directed at these two young woman, and bearing in mind people on here know little or nothing about them on a personal level, it is quite probably completely unjustified.

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 26 Oct 2016 08:54

Magpie, you made me laugh. :-D

I have no idea of your gender but Bob, I believe, is male.

Although they were called the York sisters on page one of this thread, Bob, like my OH, probably has little interest in royalty and only knows the major players. Pluck a name out of the hat for minor royals; they're Andrew's daughters ..... so .....

I don't care what the girls do, where they holiday or how they dress but I do care about the pennies in my pocket and I think that was the original gist of this thread.

Kense

Kense Report 26 Oct 2016 09:00

This is the official site of the Andrews Sisters
http://www.cmgww.com/music/andrews/
which might explain Bob's and Island's and the Joys's posts for any younger members who did not get it.

:-D :-D :-D

Island

Island Report 26 Oct 2016 09:54

Actually magpie and Kense, it was I who called these girls the Andrews sisters in the first instance - it was a J.O.K.E. which I assumed Bob was going along with.
So you don't read my comments eh?

You don't have to be old to know who the Andrews sisters were.

Another thread goes t*ts :-\ :-\ :-\

Kense

Kense Report 26 Oct 2016 10:14

OK Island I have edited my post for you. :-)

Actually this thread is pretty pointless and yawn making with, apart from sylvain, so many half baked, ill informed comments that it's tedious continuing.

Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 26 Oct 2016 15:05

well those girls were born into what became a fractured family

although well educated their status would be downgraded as children of the second in line as Charles married and had children

even if they were employed it would be because of their royal connection rather than ability

Andrew too has gone in circles trying to find his feet and most probably trying to earning to try to cover his expenses .

i dont think though that both girls should receive taxpayers money to live on

They probably didnt expect they would have to take jobs to live on but thats what they have to do .

i have no quibble with the girls and wont comment on their fashion sense .am sure what they wear they like .

Island

I saw Barbras' post earlier. Nothing wrong with it at all.

*suspicious*

Ignore it Barbra.

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 26 Oct 2016 20:16

Someone got an itchy finger :-(

Barbra

Barbra Report 26 Oct 2016 22:36

I said to Magpie if the thread is pointless why post on it ? & I thought it was relevant at the time I posted as Andrew & daughters were in the News .nothing wrong with comments :-S
