The modern world has taken one massive step........ BACKWARDS!

Well done Donald a fabulous result for true Americans.

Well!

Sylvia, we have a spare bedroom here, not that Australia will be immune to any changes in American Policy.

I hope that the wall does not spoil your view :-(

At least he can't claim that the Election was rigged

Lee - in your opinion, which of Trumps policies attracted the votes? Alternatively, was it a desire for change from a Democrat leadership?

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 9 Nov 2016 09:30

It is going to be interesting when his followers find out he can keep his racist, misogynistic and homophobic promises.

Still they believed the lies, they get what they deserve.

I wonder if he'll start using American steel in his business and stop importing from China now.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 9 Nov 2016 09:35

Guinevere, just because someone holds a different opinion to you, it doesn't mean they are stupid.
Its rare that a supporter of one particular party or politician agrees with everything they stand for. For those people, the positive outweighs the negatives.

Personally, I'm surprised that someone who has never been involved in politics has been elected, but then older voters may have been concerned that Bill Clinton might have been the puppet master pulling his wife's strings.

The summary that Sylvia kindly posted wouldn't attract my vote for Trump but then we aren't living in the USA, are we?

My fav quote of the day

ORANGE is the new BLACK :-D :-D :-D :-D

*Guinevere, just because someone holds a different opinion to you, it doesn't mean they are stupid.*

Sometimes it does. There are people who say the earth is flat. They are stupid.

To make president a man who advocates sexual assault on women is stupid and misogynistic.

wonder if he'll carry out his threat to put Hillary in jail

"Well done Donald a fabulous result for true Americans"

That would be Native American Indians, right?

America had the choice of two clowns
The people have spoken with their votes
Personally I think both Candidates are nuts
God help Americas if that's the best they where offered

To be honest I think if Micky Mouse had also run
We would now be congratulating

President Micky this morning :-( :-( :-(

Perhaps DT is going to jail ?
A fraud charge and a child rape still to come

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 9 Nov 2016 10:38

I wonder if he'll try to 'remove' Native Americans?
After all, they could be mistaken (by him) for Mexicans.

thank heavens it is over that is after the postmortem.
Had to post this as it has been going round in my head for days. A song i recalled from childhood

To Bombay
A traveling circus came
They brought an intelligent elephant
And Nellie was her name
One dark night
She slipped her iron chain
And off she ran to Hindustan
And was never seen again

Nellie the Elephant packed her trunk
And said goodbye to the circus
Off she went with a trumpety-trump
Trump, trump, trump
Nellie the Elephant packed her trunk
And trundled back to the jungle
Off she went with a trumpety-trump
Trump, trump, trump

Night by night
She danced to the circus band
When Nellie was leading the big parade
She looked so proud and grand
No more tricks
For Nellie to perform
They taught her how to take a bow
And she took the crowd by storm

Nellie the Elephant packed her trunk
And said goodbye to the circus
Off she went with a trumpety-trump
Trump, trump, trump
Nellie the Elephant packed her trunk
And trundled back to the jungle
Off she went with a trumpety-trump
Trump, trump, trump

The head of the herd was calling
Far, far away
They met one night in the silver light
On the road to Mandalay
Nellie the Elephant packed her trunk
And said goodbye to the circus
Off she went with a trumpety-trump
Trump, trump, trump
Nellie the Elephant packed her trunk
And trundled back to the jungle
Off she went with a trumpety-trump
Trump, trump, trump

;-)

What I find most surprising is that a country that has in excess of 318 million people have had to choose between these two. Not a choice I would like to make.

I have been watching Trumps "victory " speech, the young man at his side whom I assume to be his son. Poor chap look decided uncomfortable, his body language spoke volumes to me.

God help America. God help the world!

I watched the coverage all night - yes I am that sad!

It's all very well having 'celebs' support a candidate but that doesn't compare to the 'military' support and the weight it carries.

She is definitely the most distrusted candidate for decades and just goes to show how Bernie Sanders would probably have carried the majority vote if he had stayed in the race.

It's very telling that Clinton has not made a public appearance and US commentators have stated just how disrespectful that is to her team and supporters.

Interesting times ahead, let's hope he appoints to right people to advise.

Polly, the poor kid was absolutely dead on his feet through exhaustion.

Caroline Report 9 Nov 2016 12:02

I wonder how many more protest type votes there have to be before those in charge start to wake up to the fact people are fed up !!
I don't like Trump but then Clinton wasn't much better just different.
To say people are stupid for voting for him, well that's democracy for you everyone has the right to vote. At least they went out and voted. Don't moan if you didn't vote....think we've had this conversation before haven't we.......
