Well, he's got to attend court on November 28th to defend himself against allegations of defrauding students at Trump University.
There's also a New York state investigation into Trump’s charitable foundation and a reported federal investigation into some of his advisers’ ties to Russia - and all before his inauguration as President :-S

The Executive Branch in the US is governed by federal laws, which require that investments, properties owned, business interests etc be put into a Blind Trust before taking Office.

Except for the President and the Vice-President.

Modern Presidents have set up Blind trusts ....... even Dubya Bush's VP Dick Cheney who had major interests in Haliburton after being their chief exec for several years before being picked by Dubya. He did have major problems in later years of office because Haliburton was a major supplier of arms and armaments to the US Government.


Trump/s problems are immensely greater than any other president in history.

Nothing is in the public domain, but it is estimated that he owns around 500 properties, businesses, investments etc, and quite a number of them are in foreign countries that the US has dealings with ........ eg, Turkey, Philippines.

Plus who knows what the ties are to Russia and investments

He HAS to completely separate himself from his businesses or face conflicts of interests around the world.

Even if Trump did end up setting up an actual blind trust, with an actually independent trustee, Trump would still likely be aware of many of the Trump Organization’s business dealings, given that it makes money by having companies pay for the rights to use the Trump name on buildings and products.

It is a sure thing that D T Rump will be corralled and controlled by the Republican party machine and the meat of nearly all his ideas boiled to the bone and thrown out for the dogs. There is a better than evens chance that Rump himself will be impeached - by the Republican party. There is a near certainty that at some point Rump will say the hell with it throw away the key to 1600 PA and walk out.

Hooray say the Democrats and the liberal left. The only trouble is that a great swathe of what was once the heart of America from Lincoln, Nebraska to Dayton, Ohio really has had a terrible time while what they see as the liberal elite on east and west coast make a fortune. They have no love for the ever growing Latino population.

The sidelining of T Rump may make the world feel a bit safer and mainstream people happier BUT these problems will remain and fester. As Pence de facto takes over the anger will be more than ever as the prophesied betrayal takes place

Now he is president Rump has found what half the world was trying to tell him, there are no easy answers, there never were.The hard answers which are there to be read are universally rejected by the far right. All they have to offer in the end is war.

He has also put 3 of his children and his son-in-law on the Transition Committee .......... as well as seeming to think that he can put his 3 children in charge of the Blind Trust that he has to set up, AND some commentators think his son-in-law is going to be named his Chief of Staff.

That could be interesting as the Chief of Staff is the chief liaison between the White House (ie President), Congress and Senate ...... so has to know his/her way around ........... and also apparently has a responsibility to tell the President when he cannot do what he wants to do.

No-one but no-one tells Trump what not to do.

Nor is a President supposed to practise nepotism by advancing his family members. :-D

I don't think he expected to win and he's frightened of the enormity of the task ahead. Who wouldn't be? He didn't go to any Veteran's Day ceremonies yesterday and has hardly been seen apart from on TV. One report says he doesn't want to sleep in The White House and the rumour mill is turning.

He's backtracking (thankfully) on some of his more crazy pronouncements and I think he will need time to adjust. He's handed over responsibility for forming his "cabinet" to Pence, who is far more qualified to know what to do. A very sensible decision, given his lack of experience.

He seems to be being "managed" by senior republicans, which can only be a good thing, while he comes to terms with his victory.

I expect some of his supporters are going to be very disappointed when he doesn't try to jail Hillary or build his famous wall, ban Muslims from the USA etc etc. The more reasonable republicans will be very relieved and, hopefully, will support a more moderate Trump.

Hey but he said he'd work for free so saving them a few dollars......or more likely if he takes the pay he'd have to pay income tax !!

It seems that some are calling for his resignation already - he hasn't warmed the seat of office yet.

Taking them together, he seemed quite fair. Neither candidate were angels. It brings to mind A Rock and A Hard Place for the US electorate.

Interesting but very biased and somewhat economical with the truth. The right wing press in the US are every bit as vile as they are here.
