Walking away wouldn't be rude at all Emma but it would mean walking away from something I enjoy. It's not just me that feels this way, :-\ :-(

I'm assuming that this must be unique - unless all those c90 lurkers also bore for the planet?

Funny what captures the imagination here. Ironing anyone? :-S

Island ......

I'm probably one of the 90 viewers but not posters ...................

not posting because I haven't known what to say or what advice to offer!

We're finding our afternoon coffee break is getting spoiled because one of the women has become a chronic complainer ..........

Yes, she lives alone, never been married, no kids

Yes, moving from coffee shop to coffee shop during the day is one of her enjoyments

but why does she have to complain so darned much!!

This afternoon's examples .............

snow's coming? "Oh, I don't want it. I'll have to find out my snow boots, then I'll have to sort the soft packing for my feet. And I can't wear my orthotics in them"

"It's not easy for me to walk on snow."

"You're going away, and you won't be back until when? How am I going to manage. It's going to be so lonely."

"Those people are making so much noise in here."

OH sits there, dozes off, and puts pressure on me to leave sooner than we would normally do

Neither situation, yours or mine, is easy to handle!

There you go Sylvia, you did have something to say LOL

I'm not really asking for advice, more caring and sharing - I thought that was what chat was all about :-S Obviously, I got that wrong!

Thank you for posting.

Sorry I couldn't help Island but if you all feel the same
surely someone could steer the conversation onto
something that she knows nothing about and that is
news known only to that person, allowing all to join in
with the subject.

She obviously enjoys your company

Or am I on the wrong track :-)

Wrong track Emma :-(

There's nothing this woman doesn't know about or have an opinion on LOL

Thanks anyway.

A chirpy politician said something unexpectedly intelligent on the radio yesterday which got me to wonder if there might be some hope for humanity after all.

Spill the beans, Dermot, this has got to be good. :-D

I'll have no spilt beans on my thread - it's slippy enough with all the verbal do doos :-0

Sir John Cheke (16 June 1514 – 13 September 1557) was an English classical scholar who wrote:

‘I am of this opinion that our own tung should be written cleane and pure, unmixt and unmangeled with borowing of other tunges; wherein if we take not heed by tiim, ever borowing and never paying, she shall be fain to keep her house as bankrupt‘.
