Sorry, just went missing for a long soak in the bath.

Kids stayed at Nanny's - Mers, how you escaped that escapes me. :-D

I think we had partaken a little too much on Chistmas Eve so we were good yesterday and walked home at the earlier time of around 10 pm,

Having said that, we were all complaining about feeling stuffed - :-D

In Ireland, December 26th is called Lá Fhéile Stiofáin or Lá an Dreoilín, meaning the ‘Day of the Wren’ or Wren's Day.

This name alludes to several legends, including those found in Ireland, linking episodes in the life of Jesus to the poor wren. People dressed up in old clothes, straw hats & travelled from door to door where they would dance, sing a ballad & play traditional Irish music. Good fun it was too!

Unfortunately, this custom is less common now than it was just a couple of decades ago.
