OH has got hold of the remote while I was otherwise engaged and now there is something very strange on the television that I don't understand.

There are lots of people chanting something and a number of men, who are not even wearing their trousers and appear to be wearing matching underwear are running about on a field with a ball.

OH keeps shouting some very strange things as well.

At least you aren't being irritated by 2 men waving long sticks around and commentary in hushed tones. :-(

Over here it's a bunch of men on an ice rink chasing a funny little rubber object and hitting it with a stick. Every now & then they stop to punch an opponent in the face which the crowd just loves. I don't understand it?

Boxing on ice a fine art indeed...beats playing rounders as adults!

Only Last Sunday, it seems that thousands of white Guys were chasing a small group of black guys around the streets of London, and some were even on motorbikes or
tricycles... this went on for several hours much to the enjoyment of the onlookers....

I heard about that, Bob - it even reached the newspapers!!

The underlying idea that sport is a waste of time, of interest only to men and to be pilloried is nuts. Lots of women follow various sports and many participate from schools and club to international level. In particular women's football has become commercialy viable.

...and I thought men were meant to be 'banter' experts.....

RolloTheRed

RolloTheRed Report 1 May 2017 13:05

The no 1 excuse for much of the negative dross posted on social networks is "banter". Banter of course is beyond criticism.
:-P

maggiewinchester Report 1 May 2017 13:30

Negative dross? Really? Ooo-err.
That is a rather unnecessarily nasty thing for you to say.

Alarm!! Alarm!!! - humour analyst on the attack! :-D

Should we apologise for having a laugh? :-S
Or just stick to things you may understand / appreciate?

Just like to say, my 15 year old grand daughter plays rugby - that's proper rugby union, with clashes, bloody noses etc.

Her 7 year old brother refuses to play the game.

Because

He doesn't like the colour of the shirt he'd have to wear!! :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

In memory of Budicca who got the six nations ball rolling.

...I still find football, snooker, swimming, bowls and horsey things on the TV boring though......
