Yesterday OH made toasted sandwiches, something we have two or three times a year at most. He decided the sandwich toaster we have had for something approaching twenty years was finished because he couldn't get the sandwiches out easily, they were stuck on, so he chucked it away. |

Summer is a rubbish time for TV, unless you enjoy watching 'sports'. Why not keep a diary for a few weeks, detailing who watched which channel/programme & when? |

We have had Sky for a few years and I have never watched most of what is available and, what I do watch is on its third or fourth cycle now. |

Sky have a gadget called Now! It plugs into an hdmi socket on the TV. They are on eBay for about £20. Once registered Sky give out one day passes for Sports etc for £ 10. Occasional users can save a tidy sum. |

Sky subscribers are given/create a password so that they can access the site via the internet. Were you to cancel at renewal, ask around your friends & acquaintances. One of them might be willing to share their TV password with you. |

I use my Sky Now mainly for live test cricket which is not widely available in pubs mores the pity. If they do have cricket the sound will be turned down unless you have the good fortune of a landlord from the sub continent. |

I would miss the pause and rewind facility, great when some twerp knocks at the door or rings you up to chatter for hours just at the most interesting bit! ;-) |

I really could not be arsed with things you have to plug in or buy or have passwords for. I would sooner just not watch the tele. |

Looking for the name of the contraption which mother-in-law used to have to make toasted sandwiches, I found this link, which tells one how to make them in a frying pan. |

So you have Sky, broadband and wifi without needing to plug anything in or set passwords here and there. |

Can anyone remember the jaffle irons that made toasted sandwiches years ago when they were called jafflles? |

I have the toasting bags, you can get them in other places than Lakeland. They work really well for when you fancy a toastie. They don't seal the toastie, of course, and you need a toaster with a wide enough slot. I can get pannini rolls in mine if I squash them down a bit...... |
