Trouble is dad always told us about our Welsh side and now when I come in contact with others theyve also heard the same tale. I believe it, it's just out of reach but I really don't fancy trying to find our Lloyds amongst all the others in Wales :-D

Not with such a common name. My gt gt gt grandfather born about 1788 was born in Dudley and now I'm stuck because John Lloyd is a common name even in Dudley.

At junior school in my class there was June and David Lloyd, there was a Malcolm Lloyd in the next class down, in my sister's class there was another Pat Lloyd and also a Linda Lloyd. That's in Walsall. Stacks of us about, all different families non related to each other.

Yes and then I married a man with a foreign name - it's Swedish and find out his maternal gt grandparents were - male Dutch - female German. If that wasn't bad enough he's a true cockney as he was born in Poplar - his parents did go to live in Kent when he was a few months old though.

I think the problem was lack of jobs in Wales.

Should I start the thread again tomorrow Fly? I don't want Mersey to think I've taken it over but if she's not on here I don't mind starting it as I'm up the earliest. I was hoping that Mersey would come on tonight and then I'd know she was back.
