I was looking forward to walking down the aisle and I have never regretted a single minute of those 57 years. Of course it has not always been sweetness and light, as the saying goes if you want rainbows you have to have a little rain with the sunshine. But it has been 99% good and I would not change him for the world, love him to bits. Hope we have many more good years together to come. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

We celebrated 57 years in June. At first glance your wedding photo looks a bit like ours - bride in classic white and groom in naval uniform.

Oh that's wonderful! OH and I tripped down the aisle 53 1/2 years ago and though we've had our ups and downs neither of us regrets a moment of it, in fact I think we are happier now than we've ever been in a contented sort of way!

Shirley yes, he is my best friend.

Been a funny old day though. Lovely morning having coffee and scone out then back for lunch. OH went out to do things in the garden and came in and said all the outdoor tomatoes have got blight. Never had that happen before, nearly all still green. (we have had loads of tomatoes from the greenhouse and tumblers from hanging baskets). So he had to pick all the tomatoes in while I scrabbled round to see if I had enough ingredients to make a few jars at least of green tomato chutney. That is now cooking and smelling the house out. Meanwhile he has to pull up all the plants to get rid of them. We had seven gladioli flowers in the garden, six were lilac and finished one was a rogue, much later and a beautiful large scarlet with 6 more flowers on it still to open. Yep, he axidentally caught it and it snapped off. :-( :-( Next he is at the door shouting, 'Have you got anything for a wasp sting?' Having questioned him I think it more likely it was a small bee sting as there are loads onhis dahlias which he was tidying up. I am holding my breath now for anything else to happen. He is still out in the garden. I felt I should have kept him indoors Lol! :-D

Thanks Jem, he can't feel the sting now, his skin must be made of leather!! 6 pounds approximately of chutney made, dinner prepared to cook later, T is in now and has just made a cup of tea so fingers crossed the rest of the day is ok Lol!!
