Back today after a break of 4 yrs,left after being a member for 5yrs due to the reporting of almost every post people posted,i remember getting threatened by Genes for nothing,after the fourth time i had enough and left...whats changed??? is the site better than it was 4yrs ago?if so why?.

things have changed for me and my family,mums very poorly now,but on the upside ,ive become a nanny to a nother granddaughter and another grandson,so i now have two granddaughters and three grandsons BLISS <3

TBH, GR has changed since you were last on here. Lots of people have left, sadly a few have died, and service is slow. GR is basically now ignored by the powers-that-be as FMP is naturally their favoured site.

We had problems with a trigger finger reporting innocuous posts and so people got fed up.

This Board is much slower than it was even 4 years ago!

Yes things have changed and I thought you should know that, unfortunately, Just John was banned from the boards for 6 years (ridiculous), about 3 years ago. We miss his banter and chatter very much. I have kept his thread going since he went.

Very few 'meaty' discussions on here these days sadly.

Dermot is still around but not as often as I would like.
Sylvia from Canada, BrendafromWales and Nyx make interesting posts.
Sharron does her female version of Bear Grylls in the South Downs.
Errol Sheep is lurking but no longer posts driven out by the witch's coven.
Mr Magoo was forced by GR support to stop quoting English seaside bawdy humour. He still tries though.
There are fewer threads dealing with the ups and downs of everyday life and memories of days of yore. I especially like the latter.
There is much grief as our favorite entertainers pass on.
Modern tv with mumbled diction, muddy sombre photography has largely failed to please. My aged parent likes Skandi crime as it has subtitles.

The software is even more moth eaten. These features no longer work or have vanished:
hot matches, advanced search, print trees, maps, embedded images in tree
but they did fix the problem of poor performance.

He finally found the time to die and I have never found anything interesting to post about since. No time, got to do my own washing and wash up!

Hello Suzanne, I note my name is missing from your list but I remember you. Sharron tells porkies, she still keeps us entertained with her musings. Ok we are far fewer in number but we can still have a laugh.

not the Teresa you mentioned, I was on the boards four years ago and still add to threads once in a while now.

As others have daid, boards are much slower. Some people left left for one reason or another, many of us visit less frequently. Perhaps put off by being RR'd, insulted or ignored.

As people have left there seems to have been very few newbies to replace them. It will be good to get another persons view on the state of the boards, t.v. or the world in general. :-)
