Maternal grandfather was in the army WW1 South Staffs regiment.

Paternal grandfather was in the Vet Corps looking after the war horses.

My uncle, my Mother's brother was in the Royal Navy as was uncle George during WWII

Ralph, the younger uncle served aboard Bluebell.

Bluebell was torpedoed while escorting Russian convoys ...uncle perished

My mum had a cousin who lodged with them during the war..he was also in the Navy and he died when the ship was sunk by a German uboat :-( :-(

It was a terrible time and many died - fact. If that's not remembered and what war really means to everyone they died in vain.
