It seems family of Henry Vincent keep displaying vast amounts of "tributes" opposite the home of Mr and Mrs Osborne-Brooks.

Should they be allowed to do this?

LaGooner Report 10 Apr 2018 18:44

The neighbours don't think so as they are taking them down and stamping on them, :-)

Just seen that on the news.

It seems he was a lovely man. I expect he was visiting those pensioners to repair something with that screwdriver as a surprise for them.

Caroline Report 10 Apr 2018 18:47

Maybe he used to be a boy scout..always prepared

Caroline

Caroline Report 10 Apr 2018 18:56

They say he was "too good to walk this earth" funny how where you stand changes your view; I think this was said on another thread a few days ago different story though.

I understand the flowers last night were taken to a local graveyard, today they were stamped on.

It appears thieving was a 'craft' in the Vincent clan - handed down the family......

The pensioner has had to move out of his home and is under police protection.

Caroline

Caroline Report 10 Apr 2018 18:58

And his wife is finding it hard to understand due to her situation. Totally wrong they should be in this position.

'Emma'

'Emma' Report 10 Apr 2018 19:00

I agree Caroline, distressing for them both.

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 10 Apr 2018 19:00

True,
Why can't they stay in their own home, and have police protection there?
As for the 'memorials', if they're stuck on his fence, without his permission, surely that's intentional littering?

Edit: If the pensioner is also finds those people hanging around his house sticking tat to his fence threatening - surely that's harassment?

Caroline

Caroline Report 10 Apr 2018 19:09

It's not his fence but a neighbour across the road I believe, no one saying it's with permission.

They have fitted cameras etc but still it's not safe for them to be there, I believe the police are saying that!!

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 10 Apr 2018 21:14

I've read they've been taken down 3 times but the women keep coming back and putting them back up. Heavy police presence but they just let them do it.

Those poor people will never be able to go home a cousin is quoted as saying they will have their revenge. You cross the Irish travellers at your peril in that area, apparently.

Caroline

Caroline Report 10 Apr 2018 21:31

How is that not threatening behaviour? Does seem strange, granted it wouldn't be easy or popular with the family but why are they allowed to act like this without the police even talking to them that we know of?

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 10 Apr 2018 21:32

I think it's because of who they are, Caroline. Certain groups get away with stuff the rest of us would be arrested for.

Caroline

Caroline Report 10 Apr 2018 21:46

I think you're right, and it's wrong I don't care who they are no one should be allowed to do that. A simple bunch of flowers would have been more than enough in itself, as even Mr Osborn-Brooks didn't set out to kill anyone that night so obviously a gesture.

Linda

Linda Report 10 Apr 2018 21:47

Surely if those flowers are on someones fence then they must have permission from the owners to put them there else I feel sure they would have taken down before now

Caroline

Caroline Report 10 Apr 2018 21:53

My understanding is they don't I think it's safe to assume they're all wary of the gang that is putting the flowers on, except for the man with the beanie hat who took them down today....have to laugh that hat wasn't fooling anyone if you're local I'm sure you know who he is :-)

Kay????

Kay???? Report 10 Apr 2018 21:58

Saverimuthu Augustine, 78, said some of the tributes had been attached to his property.
He said: "I am annoyed they put them on my fence. I do not appreciate it.
"If it is a normal person it is different - it could have been my house [that was burgled]."

So too scared then to say anything to them.
