I recently went on a "Speed Awareness Course" which avoids three points being added to an otherwise clean licence. Serious speeders and repeat offenders are not allowed on the speed awareness course.

The course organised the attendees into groups and set them to discuss various issues. Quite interesting though, the SAC understanding of stats was next to zero.

Getting back to the office I found a great big box on my desk. Inside it was one small box with my new mobile phone, a Sony XZ2. The large box was a gift from Sony pleased that I had stayed with the brand. It contained a PS4 games unit with one game. "Gran Torismo Sport". Vrmmm.

It's all over with the Jag and its purry paws motor of feline power :-(

My company wheels are now an electric car ( well it has petrol backup) the BMW I3. I asked for a Tesla but apparently even with promotion that is way beyond my pay grade. I have not yet seen the mini beemer in the flesh - I have got to do a one day course on how to drive it first. I don't think that performance is quite up there with the Jag but it will be a ideal for getting around the metropolis inc the green zone. .

Life's like that. Vrmmm.

The “What Car” review generally gives your new vehicle a good write-up. One criticism is the lack of lumbar support which could cause discomfort on longer journeys. Hopefully you have access to a different vehicle if you need to drive out of town.

Did they think through on recharging points before introducing electric cars to the fleet?

I think he established the other day he had access to a few cars....

The electric beemer is my own silly fault I sold the advantages of green power too well hoping to get a budget Tesla. I failed to research USA/UK price differences which are Atlantic wide.

The JAG had superlative comfort which is great for my poor back held together with titanium plates. The beemer i3 is not meant for going much further than Brighton pr a snowy day on Shooters Hill.

Anyway there will be 4 of them and generally I'll keep the same one.

I rarely brought the Jag home 'cos a neighbour often camped on my Residents parking place with her RR Epoque . Now parking wars will resume as I will have to drop the curb, pave the garden and install the charging kit. Charging takes forever from the standard plug. It is illegal to park and block a public or private charging point but that cuts no ice with most Londoners.

God knows where the bins will go.

The SAC course was very funny as the guys n girlss in charge found themselves purveying cooked stats to people well able to quiz them.. FWIW the last three fatal accidents in Dorset occurred at less than 10 mph all very sad.

I was amazed that the courses bring in to Dprset £ 3.5 M per annum. As well as those caught by camera a lot of firms send their employees on the course!

The PS4 Game remains in its box. My son in France has a PS4 as well and wants me to join in shooting virtual terrorists at a place called Rainbow 6. Can't say I fancy it especially as Myst and Riven are now released for Android. I will have to humour him and die a thousand virtual deaths all in French

I think you'll find you'll need planning permission to pave your front garden - and will have to get contractors in to lower the kerb.

Installing the charging kit, could you do that yourself??

No.
But there is help:
"There is a generous government grant for home charging points. The Office for Low Emission Vehicles gives eligible electric/hybrid car owners a grant of £500 towards purchase and installation".

Wouldn't that cost a lot each time to charge at home?...and....how is it green if you're using electricity not solar is it??

And try looking at the price of scrapping the batteries when they need replacing.

It is only specialist recyclers that will and are licenced to handle them. Fair game to be stitched up by them

No permission is needed to pave part of the garden. Best to get the drop kerb first though permission is needed for that. The charging point has to be installed by an authorised contractor. All of this is expensive but may not be needed as Islington is installing street fast charging points all over the Borough. The resident parking permit for electric cars is free :-)

I am not sure on that and OH is not here to ask he is in the motor trade but I suspect someone else will tell us ;-)
