Nobody needs to know this and I don't know why I am even telling anybody but medieval ships captains were obliged to upon pain of a heavy fine to carry a cat on board to deal with vermin. |

We had a bat came in through the bedroom window one night, it flew round and round the room. I read somewhere that due to their navigate by radar, the best thing to do is to open the window and let the bat fly out. So we did, it made another 3 circuits of the room, then shot out, thank goodness! |
