Reports from Thai Navy Seals - All Out, all safe. :-D

Well done all the brave divers, remembering Saman Kunan. <3

The weakest of the boys are OUT. 2 already at a hospital. 4 more out of the water and walking out of the cave system.

Australian doctor sent the weakest first.

That's half the boys out.

Good to hear hope they all fair as well.

Good fingers crossed for the remainder and their coach.

Sharron Report 8 Jul 2018 14:32

That coach might elect to stay there, he will be in heap big trouble I would think!

PatinCyprus Report 8 Jul 2018 14:36

One giving cause for concern.

Thai public broadcast announcement - the remainder to be rescued tomorrow - not confirmed yet.

I've been following this with heart in mouth. Very sad that one of the rescuers lost his life, I hope everyone else will be safe.

I said, and am saying again, that the coach might elect to stay in there because he will be in heap big trouble when he gets out and I don't know why it was RR'd.

The coach has received messages from the parents - they don't hold him responsible.

OMG seriously...if that's all you said Sharron!!

As much as the parents might forgive him you know someone in authority will want to talk to him....hindsight is a wonderful thing...

I think he may have cost the country a few bob as well and it possibly not the most responsible place to take a group of lads.

Caroline

Caroline Report 8 Jul 2018 15:23

Worldwide attention rather infers he'll get a good talking to.

PatinCyprus

PatinCyprus Report 8 Jul 2018 15:23

Confirmed only 4 out the rest tomorrow.

Our news reports are saying the four STRONGEST were brought out first, as they don't know whether the weakest could make it. It took them 8-11 hours to bring out the first 4.

They also did not have wet suits for the 3 smallest boys as of yesterday.

Heavy rain over tonight and tomorrow also expected, which could complicate matters

Sharron

Sharron Report 8 Jul 2018 21:11

Apparently there is a university somewhere that is making a little submarine contraption to try to get them out.

I am in Thailand on holiday & 4 boys out, rescue to start again 8am Thai time. No one over here seems to be against the coach & he will probably be a hero when all over. He rationed what food they had, didn't take any himself & kept the boys together, even the parents are not against him. Farmers have had their land flooded from the pumping out but even they are not moaning, the whole country praying for them & seems no one blaming coach.

I do hope they can get more lads out, as well as the coach. I am glad he is not being vilified.

The bravery of the rescuers as well as the victims is incredible and I hope no more lives are lost. Valuable lessons will be learned from the situation, and maybe more youngsters will learn to swim, even dive, and become rescuers for any other water based problems.

Good luck to those rescued already, I hope they are recovering well and there will be more good news soon.

Another disaster happened here at Phuket last Thursday, 2 tourist boats sunk in a storm& over 40 Chinese tourists lost their lives. Been overshadowed by cave rescue. May not have made English news. Still some missing. Thai government said Captain & owner will be made to pay as they were warned about the weather, 10 other boats did not leave island & stayed overnight & came back to Phuket Friday morning. Sad times here in Thailand at moment. My heart goes out to Chinese tourists & families who were just on a boat trip.

Hilary, that's very sad. Whatever the owner and Captain pay won't bring back those poor people who were spending money trying to enjoy their holidays. May those lost rest in peace.

The cave rescue resumed about four hours ago. Apparently the parents haven't been told which boys have been rescued.
