Must be like say,
a swimming pool with all sorts of objects floating around....LOL

It is amazing how the astronomers have so much information regarding the Sun's Planets enabling to look at the information as if from a distance and being able to see
an almost straight line through the majority. Especially given the huge of each from each other.Those same astronomers can tell you where they will be next year, a thousand years from now, so precise is their motion.

No mention of Planet X that has been in the news or "fake news" a lot.

not quite ALL in line, my friend!

As the sun went down and the moon came up, for an instant the Sun, the, Moon, Earth, Mars, Venus and Saturn were in a straight line !! How often does that happen ?

Well I'm glad that it wasn't last night!

Thick clouds about and the moon not even visible, just a hazy light in the sky :-0

The moon was shining brightly (and silvery white) in a clear patch of sky through my back bedroom window at 3 am! :-| :-|

Well although disappointed that we didn't see the moon last night, I'm pleased for those of you who did.
When grandson was young, he and I always used to go out to watch these free spectacular displays.
Meteor shower next month, I believe. Maybe we will have clear skies for that event.

Nothing, nought zilch :-(

Too low in the sky early on then by the time the moon was visible it was all over ;-)

Here in NE UK we couldn't see it because of cloud, but we had an almighty
thunder and lightning storm and downpour.

Lovely clear views, we watched it from just after 8 pm (local time) until late. :-D

We went to our local beach and up on the dunes we had a good position. There were areas where the heavy cloud was dispersing but sadly obviously not where the moon was :-(

We did have a lovely walk though and I took some atmospheric photos in the twilight.

There's another one in January 2019 apparently :-D

It really was a fantastic sight, Gwyn. I saw it from about 0345 when I got up until about 0615 (WA Time) when the moon was almost out of the eclipse. The proximity of Mars was also something to behold.

As I posted earlier, the clouds that have been around all week, and threatened to appear again this morning, dissipated.

Mother nature is marvellous :-D

I would so much like to have seen that.

We went to Folkestone sea front to have a clear view across to France, but there was thick dark cloud. Eventually we decided to leave, but went to the hills above the north of the town, hoping it had cleared a bit. We could see lights of ships in the Channel and harbour lights in France, but no sign of the moon. We saw some spectacular lightning though and experienced sudden tornado-like conditions, before the storm began. Dust and leaves were flying everywhere and it all started in seconds.

Well that was a sight worth watching. There must also have been an exceptionally high tide as I could hear the breakers from outside the house and we're a good couple of kilometres from the ocean, as the crow flies

Fortunately, the cloud has dispersed :-D

Still beautifully visible, but there is a bank of cloud moving in from the West
