Yes, FamilySearch is the Church of Latterday Saints site. link below.

The RECORDS section is great, lots of collections, but keep away from Collections which is user-submitted records and trees, and often very imaginative!

You now have to set up an account, but it is free and seems to be safe

I have wrote all this down and will be sitting down to put it all together tomorrow. I would just like to say a big thankyou to everyone that helped and gave me reference sights. I would like to say an extra thankyou to you Sylvia you gave me a lot. Thankyou for the site mentions I am not on some of those. Is one of those the church of the latter day saints? I remember quiet a few years ago my mum used to use it but I can;t find it x

There are two Joseph Shepherds apparently born in Barrow-on-Soar Leicestershire at around the same time .......... one in 1830/31 and one in 1831/32

Joseph Shepherd b.1831 Lincolnshire married Mary b.1829 Bradford Yorkshire. I am trying to find Mary's maiden name I am also trying to find them on any census before 1901(as I have this one) to see if I can find their parents.
