Some interesting-looking meals with mushrooms being prepared on Saturday Kitchen Live this morning.

Sound was off on TV, as daughter was on the phone so I don't know recipes, but the food looked good.

I remember finding masses of mushrooms in a field, when I was a teenager. Unusually they were growing in a field of stubble, where grain had been recently harvested.
My much older brother used to go and pick them each morning and sold them to a village shopkeeper, who bought all we could supply.

I'd be wary of collecting them now, although I know there are many edible funghi.
